Welcome to the
EXPRESSION SESSIONS
Making healing approachable & accessible through intentional expression.
about
Expression Sessions are virtual and in-person workshops that guide healing individuals through a variety of approachable forms of expression so they can move impactful experiences through their bodies.
The word “expression” comes from the Latin word meaning “to press out” or “manifest a feeling.” Expression is how we validate the impact of our experiences while releasing emotion from our body. Participants will be introduced to people, practices and principles that empower them to live a more grounded, vibrant and connected life.

By pairing exploration with expression we can expand our healing practice and release experiences held in the body.
This rhythm of expression invites us to discover & cultivate meaningful connections with ourselves, our stories and our people.
vision
Healing exists outside of hierarchies and in the open hands of the resilient. That’s why we not only empower, but encourage healing individuals to take the Expression Sessions framework to their communities, highlighting and celebrating their own 'Expressionists.'
As the network of Expressionists expands, so does the accessibility, diversity and possibility of healing.

Why Expression Sessions?
Accessible
Healing is intimidating. There are so many barriers - financial, geographical, relational, emotional etc. Expression Sessions strives to remove these barriers by curating a diversity of experiences that can be easily and affordably accessed.
Diverse
With Expression Sessions there’s something for everyone. It’s basically a database of unlikely and traditional healers in your community. This unique approach spotlights the good work already being done by the real people in your real life.
Somatic
The future of healing is somatics – or processing emotion through the body. If trauma happens to the body, it needs to be undone through the body as well. While the practice of somatics is more prevalent in locations like New York, Denver and Los Angeles, it’s virtually untapped in the South. Expression Sessions would be a gentle introduction to this emergent healing modality.
Low-Risk
Unlike group therapy and support groups, Expression Sessions take the pressure off of sharing your story or disclosing your trauma. Participants are pursuing healing of all shapes and sizes, but the focal point of the sessions is the activity itself. Because of this, participants can organically build relationships around shared interests.
Expression Session Menu
Baked into the DNA of Expression Sessions is connection. The goal of each session is to clear space for organic connection with ourselves, our stories and the people around us. Like any relationship, this connection and trust is built slowly and exponentially.
Expression Session offerings are categorized in three tiers: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. It's not that any of these skills are only reserved for those who are "good" or have "earned" the ability to try these forms of expression. Rather, these categories are in place to encourage the most open and safe connections possible during each experience.
It can be incredibly intimidating to dive head first into expression. Participants respond best when they can baby-step into new experiences, strengthening their trust in their expressive intuition and the people around them.
